Words
by Jonathan David Levine
All you use are words.
Don't you think that if they knew that you were using them like that
they'd become very angry, and would, one by one, remove themselves
from each and every dictionary?
All you do is lie.
Don't you think that if the truth heard that you were working with the
enemy that they'd turn your fiction into fact, making your life even
more chaotic that it already is?
All your days you sleep. Don't you think that if you take too much
advantage of your fantasy, that the nightmares will catch up to you, turning
your reality into something you couldn't even dream of?
All you talk about is death. Don't you think that if your heart knew it
was wasting its time by beating, it would stop and cause you to go to a
place where nobody returns from, a place full of words, lies, sleep, and
death?
Don't you think?
