A Poem Written to Pay Homage to a Cat Long Since Dead on a Road in Summer That I Passed on My Bike When I Was Eight
by Bruce Kramer

Dead Cat
Dead cat lying in the street
Dead Cat
It is you I want to eat
Dead Cat
Wondering what made you die
Dead Cat
Now your eyes are covered with flies
Dead Cat
Your brains are spilled out upon the ground
Dead Cat
My bike ran you over with a squishing sound
Dead Cat
You got hit by a bus, that oughta teach ya
Dead Cat
Now you're lying in the street, worthless road pizza
Dead Cat
Dead cat lying in the street
Dead Cat
I couldn't help but think, "what a waste of such good meat."
